We collect information in a few different ways depending on whether you are using the website or the app.

On the website, we may receive basic technical information that is sent automatically by your browser or device, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, request timing data, and limited aggregate usage information from lightweight site analytics or hosting tools if we enable them.

If you contact us by email, we will receive the information you include in that message, such as your name, email address, and any details you provide.

In the app, Playris needs access to Plex session and library information so it can sign you in, discover your server, browse your music library, and run playback. In the app, the session and setup information needed for that stays on your Apple TV as part of the app's local state, rather than being uploaded to a Playris-run backend.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to operate the website and app, provide support, maintain security, improve reliability, and respond to issues or questions you send to us.

In the app, Plex-related information is used to sign you in, reconnect your session, discover and connect to your server, load your music library, and control playback on the device.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use your Plex data for advertising.

3. Sharing of Information

We may share information with service providers or infrastructure providers that help us operate the website or app, subject to appropriate confidentiality and processing terms.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of Playris, our users, or others, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

The app also exchanges information with Plex as part of authentication, library access, and playback workflows.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Playris website is a simple static site. We do not run a contact form, newsletter signup, or ad stack on it.

Like most websites, hosting or delivery infrastructure may still record standard request logs and use basic technical mechanisms needed to serve the site securely and reliably. We may also use lightweight site analytics to understand aggregate traffic and site performance.

5. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, as well as rights to object to or restrict certain processing.

6. Data Retention and Security

For app data that remains on your device, retention is generally tied to the app itself and your use of it. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security.

Playris is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.
